Who are your favorite story book characters?

I’m doing a series of paintings portraying story book characters. So far I’m planning to do Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, and Pippi Longstocking, but I need a bunch more!

Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle of course. If you don’t know her look her up. She was illustrated by Hillary Knight (Eloise). In a whole different mood, look up Taro Yashima and in particular the stories Crow Boy and Umbrella are just amazing stories about, well, slightly extraordinary people.
